Stevens Johnson Syndrome (SJS) is a rare informality skin disease suitable to a number of causes. Most cases are a result of a reaction to drugs or by underlying infections and malignancies.  SJS is caused due to viral infection that irritates the mucous membranes and blood vessels underneath the skin.  This causes rashes lesions, and blisters to appear a top the skin.  Some of these infections include Epstein Barr virus, Mumps, the flu, herpes simplex, histoplasmosis, or cat-scratch fever.  SJS can also cause inflammation of the eyes and conjunctivitis, causing blindness in severe cases.
